Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions of contract apply from the date of booking. Online booking by the Client implies acceptance of these terms and conditions. In these terms and conditions, the expression ‘The client’ means the person, firms or company booking the accommodation at the (Loch Leven) Hotel.

Arrival and departure

Unless otherwise stated, rooms are available to check in from 4pm on the date of arrival until 11am on the date of departure. Late check out may be pre booked prior to arrival at an extra charge. Failure to leave your room by the stated check out time will result in a late check out charge.

Children & Extra guests

Children are classed as such up to the age of 11. Our Family Rooms sleep up to 2 adults and 1 child (unless the children are very small and happy to share a small sofa bed). Sofa beds in the Family Rooms are not full size beds and may not be suitable for some adults. Extra guests aged 12 or above will be charged at adult rate. Cots are not available at the moment due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Accessibility

Bedrooms in the hotel are accessed by stairs only, except for one accessible room on the ground floor. We cannot guarantee an accessible room unless this was stated in writing in your final confirmation. Restaurant and bar are on the ground floor with no steps and as such accessible also to wheelchair users.

Pets

Dogs are welcome in designated bedrooms. There is a £20 dog supplement to cover a deep cleaning fee. Any damage caused by dogs will be charged. Dog are allowed in specific public areas, including the Old Ferry Bar and bar dining area. The hotel will make every possible effort to ensure that our guest’s requirements are met, however all rooms are subject to availability.

Payment

Payment types accepted: Cash, credit/debit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express,) and bank transfer. We no longer accept personal cheques as a method of payment. Please note that for international bank transfers a small fee will apply to cover the fees charged by our bank. A credit/debit card is required at checkin as a guarantee. Pre-payments and deposits are required for all rates except for our Fully Flexible Rate, amount of the pre-payment depends on the terms and conditions of the rate type booked. The hotel may pre-authorise any guarantee cards prior to arrival, a pre-authorisation is not a charge and will be released to the credit/debit card within a few days/weeks, depending on your bank. The Hotel reserves the right to charge interest at the rate of 5% for each 28 day period, or part thereof, on any outstanding balances.

Non-smoking policies

Smoking in a bedroom, out the window of a bedroom or anywhere else inside the premises will result in a fine of £100. This includes e-cigarettes.

Cancellations & non-arrival charges

Individual rooms booked at our Fully Flexible Rate may be cancelled up until 2pm 7 days prior to arrival unless otherwise stated. Cancellation policies for all other rate types as well as reservations made using a voucher vary as per the terms and conditions confirmed at the time of booking. Late cancellations and non-arrivals are charged in full for the stay booked. In case of a late cancellation or a no-show for a voucher stay, voucher would become null and void. If you decide to shorten your stay, you would need to give us the notice stated on your cancellation policy. Some rates and packages are non-refundable and non-changeable, this is stated at time of booking.

Group bookings

The hotel reserves the right to apply special groups terms and conditions to any bookings of 5 room nights or more, these terms and conditions, as well as group cancellation policies, vary depending on number of room nights booked and the dates required. Please contact the hotel directly regarding group booking enquiries.

General liability and our right to cancel

The Hotel will not be liable for any failure to provide the services contracted in the following circumstances such as industrial action, fire, lightning, aircraft impact, explosion, riot and civil commotion, malicious damage, storm, tempest, flood, burst pipes, earthquake and impact, bookings which do not reach the Hotel, failure of power and/or water supplies. In this case we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible and if you have already paid for your room, we will reschedule a future date; or if you have not yet paid for your room, you will not have to make any payment to us. Without prejudice to the foregoing and without inferring any liability against them, the Hotel undertakes to take all possible action to alleviate any such inconvenience. This contract shall not be assignable. This contract shall be governed by, and construed in all respects, in accordance with the law of the country in which the Hotel is situated.

Damage

The Client shall be responsible for any damage caused to the allocated space or the furnishing, utensils and equipment therein by any act, default or neglect of the Client including by any sub-contractor or guest of the Client and shall pay to the Hotel on demand the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage.

Insurance

The Hotel accepts no responsibility for the death, bodily injury or disease arising from any cause whatsoever to: A) Persons visiting the Hotel and/or the allocated rooms on behalf of, at the invitation of, or at the request of the Client, whether such death injury or disease occurs within the allocated rooms or in any other part of the Hotel. B) Person employed by the Client during the period of hire, whether such death, injury or disease occurs within the allocated rooms or in any part of the Hotel. Except for legal liability arising due to negligence of the Hotel, its employees, servants, representatives or agents.

No responsibility whatsoever is accepted in respect of theft, injury or disease to delegates or visitors, nor for loss or damage to property of any kind; less arising as a legal liability for negligence by the hotel, or employees, or representative or agents. Clients should arrange their own insurance for the period of the conference or function.

Personal Property

The Hotel accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to the property of Clients or guests. Any property deposited in a hotel safe is strictly at owners risk except for legal liability arising due to negligence of the Hotel, its employees, servants, representatives, or agents.

Room Rates

Room rates are per room, per night unless otherwise stated and are inclusive of VAT. The hotel reserves the right to review its room prices from time to time and rates may change up to the date of your arrival. The room price payable is as quoted at the point of room reservation.

Unacceptable behaviour

You must not:

  • use any electrical appliances that may set off the fire alarm system, such as toasters, rice cookers, mini cookers or portable grills;
  • tamper with or cover any fire alarms or emergency equipment
  • cover any electrical heaters so as to create a risk of fire;
  • store items (personal or otherwise) which could cause damage to the room, or be a risk to the health and safety of our staff or property;
  • prevent us (including our maintenance and housekeeping staff) from accessing your room(s) as and when we reasonably require;
  • remove, damage or destroy any of our property;
  • use any WiFi connection to download or access any unlawful, offensive, or obscene material;
  • cause any disturbance to our other guests or staff; or
  • act in a manner which in the hotel’s opinion is indecent, harassing, threatening, abusive, inflammatory, fraudulent, illegal or otherwise objectionable.

If you or your group cause damage or loss of any kind to the hotel or other guests or their property, you (as the person making the booking) will be responsible for that damage or loss and shall be liable to pay to the hotel on demand the amount required to make good or remedy such damage or loss.

If you or your group breach any of these terms and conditions, the hotel reserves the right to:

  • cancel your reservation(s) with immediate effect and (if appropriate) eject you/your group from our premises and restrict access to the hotel;
  • remove your items from the room and hotel, disposing of such items (at no cost and no liability) if such items are not collected from us within 7 days of removal;
  • retain all sums paid by you and/or charge you the full amount of your reservation;
  • refuse or cancel future reservations from you and/or refuse you entry or accommodation at our hotel.

Loch Leven Hotel will not be liable for any refund or compensation in any of the above circumstances.
